Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 16, 2026

Draft notice. This is a starting template describing what Linecraft actually collects and does today. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and should be reviewed before it's relied on as a binding policy.

1. Who we are

Linecraft ("we", "us") operates a community platform for architects, engineers, and surveyors to publish portfolios, join studios, and find work. This policy explains what information we collect through the product and how it's used.

2. Information we collect

You provide most of this directly:

  • Account information — username, email address, full name, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text). If you sign in with Google instead, we receive your Google account email, name, and profile picture.
  • Profile information — anything you choose to add: bio, location, website, social links, work experience, education, skills, and certifications.
  • Content— posts, projects, reels, comments, and any media (images/video) you upload. Content you publish is visible to other members according to where you post it (the public feed, or a studio you've joined).
  • Connections & messages — your connection requests, your professional network, and the content of direct messages you send, including read receipts and last-seen/online status.
  • Communications — if you contact us (e.g. via the contact form), we receive your name, email, and message.

3. How we use it

  • To operate the core product — your feed, profile, studios, jobs, connections, and messaging.
  • To send you account-related email — verifying your address, password resets, and (where applicable) activity notifications.
  • To keep the platform secure — authentication sessions are managed via httpOnly cookies.
  • To respond to you when you contact us.

We do not sell your personal information. We don't currently use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

4. Who we share it with

We share information only where it's necessary to run the service:

  • Other members, to the extent your profile and content are public or visible within a studio you've joined.
  • Infrastructure providers who host our database, file storage, and send email on our behalf, strictly to provide the service.
  • Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
  • Law enforcement or other parties, if required by law.

5. Cookies

We use two httpOnly session cookies (an access token and a refresh token) to keep you signed in. These are functional cookies required for the product to work — we don't use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.

6. Data retention & deletion

We retain your account and content for as long as your account is active. There isn't yet a self-serve way to delete your account from the product — if you'd like your account and data removed, contact us and we'll process the request manually.

7. Your choices

You can edit or remove most profile information, delete individual posts/projects/reels, and remove connections directly in the product at any time.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Linecraft after a change means you accept the revised policy.
